Been a long time since I turned anything, anyway take a look at my hollow form which was the winning entry in the monthly competion. It was rescued from being a plain turning in Beech with thick walls and a horrible foot.  I remounted it in the chuck, hollowed more of the inside to leave a wall thickness of approx 6mm. After reverse chucking I removed the foot and left a small hollow in the base, it was then burnt completely using a cooking torch, brushed clean before texturing with a dremmel type tool fitted with a piercing bit, I then applied verdigris wax and after buffing applied a gilt bronze paste sparingly. Inside the form was painted in black acrylic.
